Ebinport Elementary is helping all students develop the world-class skills and life and career characteristics of the Profile of the Graduate by working alongside families and our community, cultivating and nurturing lifelong learners to excel in an interdependent global society. The 2018-2019 school year brought about many changes at Ebinport. Mid-year, our Spanish Immersion classes moved to a new building in our district which now houses all of the district's immersion programs. The 2019-2020 school year will be our first full school year as a traditional elementary school. While we miss our immersion family, we are very excited for the possibilities and opportunities this transition has brought to our school. Ebinport Elementary will be a designated Title I school. Our students have grown both academically and socially throughout the school year. We attribute this growth to having master teachers at every grade level, involved families and motivated students. Professional development opportunities included a focus on teaching students who have been through adverse childhood experiences and providing enrichment opportunities for students with a focus in the area of mathematics. Additionally, our Reading Coach has provided customized professional development to teachers on a weekly basis. We continue to strive to serve our students and our families by doing whatever it takes to meet the needs of students. Ebinport SIC has worked to achieve several goals this year. One goal was to support our school's efforts in increasing attendance and decreasing tardies. Our SIC also focused on school health and wellness. Our school began the 2018-2019 school year with an intentional focus on cultivating health-conscious students. Our school began a partnership with 5-2-1-0, an initiative to support students in their efforts to lead healthy lives by increasing physical activity and decreasing the amount of sugar consumed. In years past, we have focused on increasing parent communication. We plan to continue to work toward this goal in years to come; we know the importance of communicating with all stakeholders and feel it is necessary to keep this goal at the top of our priority list. Ebinport also participates in a partnership with The Alliance of Therapy Dogs for EbinPAWS. EbinPAWS (Partnering Animals with Students) visit classrooms once weekly to allow students to read with the dogs. Also, Ebinport partners with Williams & Fudge, a local company, who allow employees release time to mentor students. Finally, this year Ebinport has partnered with State Farm Insurance: Andrew Brownfield to recognize a teacher of the quarter for going above and beyond the call of duty! Ebinport is extremely grateful for the support we receive from families and the community. We are a school where children want to learn and teachers want to teach because of the commitment of all stakeholders. Ebinport Elementary: One School, One Voice, One Vision.
