Cane Bay continues to lead the district in course offerings. We offer more CTE and AP Programs than most schools in the tri-county area. We also offer Intermediate Manufacturing with automaker, Volvo, as a partner. We are currently the proud home of academy partnerships with McElveen (Business & Marketing), Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union (Banking), Berkeley County Sherriff's Office (Law Enforcement) and our new partnership with Roper St. Francis Hospital (Health Science and Biomedical.) We look forward to continuing these relationships and building new partnerships within the community.
Cane Bay continues to excel in the area of Fine Arts. Drama, Chorus and Orchestra were all invited to perform for conferences, clubs or other organizations due to their outstanding resumes. Cane Bay continued its dominance in All-County (27 students) and All-Region (22 students) and All State (3 students) competitions in all performing arts areas. Visual Arts highlighted its talents once again at the Coastal Carolina Fair and the S.C. Duck Stamp Contest winning numerous categories. We also had the runner up for the Congressional Art Contest, which will have this piece displayed in Rep. Joe Cunningham’s office for a year. For Choir, the tradition of the Madrigal Dinner lived on, as well as performing and achieving overall grand champions in the Georgia Southern Invitational. This past spring, the Cobra Chorale and the Ladies Honor Choir placed in the top 5 choirs in the state! Cane Bay Drama Company presented “Shrek, The Musical" to four sold out shows. They were also named the "Best of Berkeley" for the 4th straight year.
The Cane Bay Cobras had an extremely successful year athletically. The football, baseball, softball, boys and girls soccer and boys tennis teams all made state playoffs. The wrestling team won Region 7 5A. The softball team won the first district series in CBHS history. Track had a state champion in the two mile. Game Day cheer squad came second in the Game Day Cheer Invitational. Cane Bay earned recognition on a state and national level with our student participation in Robotics, DECA and Student Council. Cane Bay High School AFJROTC received regional recognition as well, being named a Distinguished Unit, with Merit.
We are proud of what is taking place at Cane Bay High School. We have seen our students move in a positive direction as the curriculum has been adjusted and activities have been added to ensure that all of the Cane Bay High School students receive a world class education. With the continued assistance of a student-centered educational community, excellent parent support, and a District Office that puts children first, we will continue to ensure that the students of Cane Bay High School receive the best educational opportunities in the state.
