At Foxbank Elementary, engaging students in meaningful learning and creating an environment where they are excited to come to school each day are at the heart of everything we do. Our highest priority is ensuring the safety of our students and staff while providing an exceptional educational experience.
This year, students had numerous opportunities to explore their interests and develop their talents through extracurricular activities, including Chorus, Running Club, Student Council, FBE News Team, Media Assistants, Boykin Artists, Boykin Buddies, and Safety Patrol. We were especially proud to present our fourth theatrical production, Beauty and the Beast. Directed by dedicated teachers, instructional assistants, and parent volunteers, this student-led performance showcased our students' creativity and leadership through set design, costumes, choreography, and acting. In addition, our Boykin PTO hosted a variety of engaging events throughout the year that strengthened the partnership among families, students, and staff while fostering a strong sense of school community.
Foxbank Elementary has proudly maintained its Berkeley County School District STEAM Endorsement since 2021. Our staff continues to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics into daily instruction through innovative, transdisciplinary learning experiences that encourage students to ask questions, solve real-world problems, and think creatively. Students participate in STEAM activities across all subject areas, enjoy our Maker Space in the Media Center, and attend Lego Lab each week as one of their fine arts classes. Our school librarian provides engaging engineering challenges, project-based learning opportunities, and innovative technology experiences. Each year, students also benefit from the Berkeley County School District's iTOW Truck, a mobile innovation lab that allows them to explore cutting-edge technologies such as virtual reality and laser cutting. These experiences complement the laser cutter permanently housed in the Foxbank Elementary Media Center.
Our school-wide behavior framework, Acting Right, emphasizes concentration, cooperation, and collaboration. This approach empowers students to take ownership of their actions while encouraging them to reflect on their choices. By fostering accountability, self-control, and positive relationships, we create classrooms where every student feels valued, supported, and ready to learn as part of a successful team.
Foxbank Elementary is truly fortunate to have the unwavering support of our community members, local businesses, and the Boykin PTO. Their generosity and commitment continue to enrich the educational experiences of our students while providing meaningful support to our teachers and staff. Together, we are building a school community where every child is encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive.
