Drayton Hall Elementary School is committed to helping every student develop the world-class skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth. Our dedicated faculty and staff believe that every child can succeed when provided with rigorous instruction, meaningful relationships, and individualized support. Together, we cultivate a welcoming school community where high expectations, innovation, and collaboration drive student success.
Our instructional program is grounded in the South Carolina College and Career Ready Standards and is designed to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Students engage in meaningful, personalized learning experiences that promote creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Teachers work collaboratively through professional learning communities, co-planning, and data-driven instruction to ensure every student receives high-quality instruction aligned to their individual learning needs.
To strengthen classroom instruction, Drayton Hall Elementary is supported by two full-time instructional coaches specializing in literacy and mathematics. These coaches partner with teachers to analyze student data, implement evidence-based instructional practices, facilitate professional learning, and provide ongoing instructional coaching that leads to improved student outcomes. Our school continues to implement high-quality core instructional resources, including the CKLA literacy curriculum and Eureka math curriculum, while providing targeted reading and mathematics intervention services for students who need additional academic support.
Recognizing that students thrive when their academic, social, and emotional needs are met, Drayton Hall Elementary provides a robust system of wraparound supports. Our team includes school counselors, a full-time social worker, special education professionals, and intervention specialists who work collaboratively to remove barriers to learning and ensure every student feels safe, connected, and supported. We continue to implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) alongside social-emotional learning practices that foster positive relationships, responsible decision-making, and a strong sense of belonging throughout our school community.
We are proud to offer enrichment opportunities that challenge and inspire students at every level. Our Gifted and Talented program provides advanced learners with engaging, inquiry-based experiences that extend classroom learning, while our Multilingual Learner program offers individualized language instruction and support to help students build English proficiency while achieving academic success. Through co-teaching, specialized services, and differentiated instruction, we strive to ensure every student has opportunities to grow and excel.
Beyond the classroom, students have access to a wide variety of opportunities that foster leadership, creativity, collaboration, and school pride. Drayton Hall Elementary offers numerous clubs and extracurricular activities, including an active National Elementary Beta Club, which encourages academic achievement, leadership, character, and service. Our robust arts integration program enriches the educational experience through schoolwide musical productions, grade-level performances, an annual talent show, and the Bobcat Chorale, our audition-based chorus that showcases students' musical talents. These opportunities allow students to explore their interests, develop confidence, and build meaningful connections within our school community.
At Drayton Hall Elementary School, rigorous academics, collaborative leadership, dedicated educators, and strong partnerships define who we are. We are proud to serve our neighborhood school community and remain committed to preparing every student for success.
