HB Rhame Elementary School, proudly located in the heart of Columbia, South Carolina, is committed to ensuring high levels of learning for every student through academic excellence, innovation, and strong partnerships with families and the community. Our dedicated faculty and staff provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where students are challenged to reach their fullest potential.
Our commitment to continuous improvement was recognized with the 2025 Data Trailblazer Award, honoring our effective use of student data to drive instruction and improve student achievement. Through the implementation of Visible Learning, students take an active role in their learning by understanding learning goals, tracking progress, and using meaningful feedback to achieve success. As an AVID Elementary school, we foster college, career, and life readiness by developing leadership, organization, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills across all grade levels.
HB Rhame offers engaging learning experiences that emphasize literacy, mathematics, STEAM, and problem-solving through programs such as Math Week, STEM Day, Read Across America, Beta Club, and extended learning opportunities. We also remain committed to educating the whole child by promoting social-emotional learning, positive character development through our S.O.A.R. expectations, and meaningful family and community engagement through cultural celebrations, family events, and strong community partnerships.
Our success is strengthened through meaningful partnerships with families, community organizations, and volunteers. An active PTO, dedicated business partners, and engaged community members work alongside our faculty and staff to support student achievement through family events, volunteer opportunities, and enrichment activities that strengthen the connection between home, school, and community.
As we look ahead, HB Rhame Elementary remains focused on continuous improvement and preparing every student to become a confident learner, compassionate leader, and productive citizen. Together with our families and community, we will continue to build a culture of excellence where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
