Richland One Middle College (ROMC) is an award-winning charter high school serving 11th- and 12th-grade students, located on the Beltline Campus of Midlands Technical College. At ROMC, we are committed to helping all students develop the World Class Knowledge and Skills, as well as the Life and Career Characteristics, outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. We accomplish this by providing students with the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school and by engaging them in meaningful, real-world learning experiences.
ROMC is dedicated to excellence in education. Our designation as a Red Carpet School reflects our commitment to maintaining a welcoming, family-oriented environment and delivering exceptional customer service to all stakeholders. Through strong collaborative partnerships with Richland County School District One and Midlands Technical College, we support a seamless transition for students from high school to college, the workforce, and military service.
Our overarching goal is to increase academic achievement by intentionally connecting classroom instruction to real-world application. At ROMC, we actively promote career awareness, exploration, and preparation, ensuring that students develop the academic, technical, and interpersonal skills necessary for success in their postsecondary pursuits. We also emphasize the development of character and leadership through meaningful community service learning opportunities. The continued support of our business partners, community stakeholders, and dedicated faculty and staff ensures that the ROMC vision is realized each year.
ROMC engages all students through the consistent integration of technology and a rigorous curriculum aligned with the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Standards. Signature academic experiences, including the Junior Keystone Project and Senior Capstone Project, require students to explore research topics aligned to their career interests, develop products that demonstrate their learning, and present their work to authentic audiences, including peers, educators, and community members.
