Lexington Elementary School is helping our students develop excellent world-class skills with life and career characteristics of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by providing a fully authorized International Baccalaureate World School curriculum. With the school motto, “Global minds with caring hearts,” we provide a quality international education to all students in kindergarten through fifth grade. 

Our mission and vision is to educate our students to become knowledgeable, responsible citizens in a global society by providing a meaningful curriculum that integrates the state standards, our community and technology resources. Our school provides programs for all students, regardless of disability. Our emphasis on international education includes Spanish instruction in grades one through five. 

In spite of the pandemic difficulties faced this past year, our faculty continued to grow professionally and has spent many hours learning new strategies in reading and math. We are excited to put our new knowledge into practice through the Reading, Writing and Math Workshop Models. The LES faculty has increased its knowledge with the use of technology and parent communication. The training and the experiences have made us stronger and more equipped to provide for your children. 

The LES PTA continued to provide support throughout the year. They were able to have one of the most successful fundraisers in their history. This valuable support will only continue to improve the environment and school culture at LES. With their support we have been able to increase our outdoor eating/education areas. School funding also enabled us to purchase additional devices so our students can be 1: 1 with technology in grades four and five. 

The LES Related Arts program continues to grow as we offer many opportunities for our students to participate in the visual and performing arts. Our parents continue to provide support at school events such as our Winter Festival and fifth grade IB Exhibition. 

In closing, I would like to say a personal thank you for the kindness the LES community has shown me since my arrival. Your support and kindness has not gone unnoticed. I am honored to be your principal. I appreciate all that you have done and look forward to many more years of working with you as we make LES the best learning environment for all students.
