Pine Grove Elementary School is committed to helping all students develop the world-class skills and life and career characteristics outlined in the Profile of the Graduate by providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes academic success in all areas. Pine Grove Elementary strives to educate children, foster strong home-school relationships, and maintain meaningful community partnerships. Our mission is to lead in transforming lives through education by empowering all students to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.
Our staff consists of thirty-eight certified staff members and thirteen classified staff members. Two administrators and three teachers hold doctoral degrees. Faculty and staff participate regularly in ongoing professional development to ensure high-quality instruction and continuous growth.
Critical Thinking:
As a staff, we will continue implementing research-based instructional strategies to increase student achievement. Our reading and math interventionists, along with our reading coach, provide targeted academic support to students. Visible Learning practices continue to strengthen critical thinking and student engagement in our classrooms, while AVID strategies support effective instructional practices schoolwide. In addition, we remain committed to the continued implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), with an emphasis on responsible behavior and restorative practices.
Collaboration:
Our Parent-Teacher Organization and School Improvement Council continue to promote parental involvement and community engagement in student learning. Through our annual Parent University, families participate in workshops that provide hands-on instructional strategies to support learning at home. The annual Pine Grove Ball remains a successful tradition that allows local businesses to partner with our school while giving students opportunities to showcase their talents beyond the classroom. The Foster Grandparents Program provides valuable volunteer support in classrooms, while volunteers from the South Carolina Department of Education and Costco serve as reading tutors for students. Our faith-based partner, Pine Grove A.M.E. Church, continues to provide outstanding support through volunteer services and financial contributions to our school community.
Pine Grove Elementary will continue striving for academic excellence for all students by fostering a strong community of learners in every classroom and encouraging positive parental involvement.
