At Logan Elementary School, we are proud of the growth and progress our students have made during the 2025–2026 school year. As a small, urban community offering both traditional and Montessori programs, we are committed to providing learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of our students.
This year, the focused efforts of our students and teachers yielded measurable academic growth. In English Language Arts, Logan demonstrated some of its highest growth on the STAR assessment, with 71.3% of students meeting their projected proficiency goals and exceeding our schoolwide target of 70%. The STAR assessment serves as the district’s designated progress-monitoring instrument for evaluating student growth throughout the academic year. In science, our district benchmark for projected proficiency on SC READY Science is 70%, allowing us to double our previous year’s goal through a focus on hands-on learning and critical-thinking experiences. Mathematics also shows positive momentum; building on the 42.3% proficiency rate from the 2024–2025 school year, our current data show student performance rising into the 50%–55% range.
While we celebrate these academic milestones, school leadership and the School Improvement Council (SIC) recognize that a truly complete education extends beyond standardized testing. As an Arts in the Basic Curriculum (ABC) and Distinguished Arts school, we provide foundational exposure to music, dance, drama, and visual arts and showcase student talents through events such as our Winter and Spring Showcases. Moving forward, a priority for our shared leadership is to intentionally strengthen these programs, ensuring that our arts identity is robustly integrated into the daily student experience.
True success also requires supporting the whole child. We recognize that our students' social, emotional, and behavioral development requires continued attention and resources. The SIC and school administration are committed to actively closing gaps in student support, ensuring every child feels safe, seen, and supported.
None of this work would be possible without the continued support of our families and community. Through programs like Reading Matters and Reading Role Models, as well as partnerships with organizations such as Aflac, our students are given valuable opportunities to learn and grow.
