Brookland-Cayce High School remains committed to developing the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate by preparing students with the academic knowledge, technical skills, and personal characteristics necessary for success in an ever-changing global society. Through rigorous instruction, diverse extracurricular opportunities, leadership development, and meaningful community engagement, we strive to educate the whole child in a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Academic achievement continues to be a cornerstone of Brookland-Cayce High School. Students are challenged through a wide range of advanced coursework opportunities, including 17 Advanced Placement (AP) courses. As one of the first schools in South Carolina designated as an AP Capstone Diploma Program school, Brookland-Cayce continues to expand access to rigorous instruction while improving student outcomes. During the 2026–2027 school year, AP participation increased and exam passage rates exceeded the state average, moving closer to global performance benchmarks.
The Class of 2026 demonstrated excellence across multiple academic indicators. Of the 230 graduates, 98 earned honors distinctions. Additionally, 62 students were identified as college ready and 179 students achieved career readiness benchmarks. Graduates collectively earned more than $5 million in scholarships and were accepted to colleges and universities throughout South Carolina and across the nation.
Through our continued partnership with Midlands Technical College, students have opportunities to earn college credit and post-secondary credentials at no cost while still enrolled in high school. This year, 23 seniors completed dual enrollment pathways, earning Associate in Art and/or Associate in Science degrees or General Studies Certificates before graduation.
Brookland-Cayce High School also takes great pride in the strength of its arts, leadership, and service programs. Students in theater, dance, chorus, band, and orchestra participated in numerous performances and earned recognition at the district, regional, and state levels, including placements in District Honor Choir, All-Region Band, All-State Band, and Orchestra programs. Our Teacher Cadet program continues to inspire future educators, while our nationally recognized JROTC program develops leadership, discipline, and service-minded citizenship.
Athletics continue to play an important role in the student experience at Brookland-Cayce. Nearly all athletic programs qualified for postseason competition, and multiple student-athletes signed to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level. Beyond competition, students demonstrated leadership through student council initiatives, mentorship opportunities, service projects, and community outreach efforts across the district.
The success of Brookland-Cayce High School is driven by a dedicated faculty and staff committed to continuous growth and improvement. Weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) support collaborative planning, data analysis, and student-centered instructional practices. Our staff reflects a strong balance of veteran educators and emerging teachers, creating an environment grounded in both experience and innovation. Positive feedback from students, parents, and staff continues to reflect a strong school culture focused on relationships, achievement, and support.
Brookland-Cayce High School is deeply appreciative of the continued partnership and support provided by the Brookland-Cayce High School Education Foundation, School Improvement Council, Booster Club, families, and community stakeholders. These partnerships play a vital role in enhancing opportunities for students and strengthening our school community.
At Brookland-Cayce High School, we remain focused on preparing students not only for graduation, but for meaningful futures beyond high school. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students, staff, and alumni, and we remain committed to our mission to help every student “Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve.”
