Bridlewood Academy
Bridlewood Academy is committed to developing students who are prepared for
success in school, in their communities, and beyond. Through rigorous academics,
meaningful relationships, and opportunities for leadership and service, we strive to
ensure every student develops the knowledge, skills, and character needed to become
lifelong learners and responsible citizens. Guided by our Bronco Pledge, our students

Bridlewood Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in
Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. As a founding school, we are building a strong
tradition of academic excellence while creating a positive school culture where every
student is known, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our dedicated
faculty and staff are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging learning
environment that challenges students to think critically, solve problems, collaborate with
others, and become confident learners.
Student achievement is at the center of everything we do. Our highly qualified teachers
provide standards-based instruction aligned with the South Carolina College and Career
Ready Standards using research-based instructional practices. Through ongoing
assessment, progress monitoring, small-group instruction, intervention, enrichment, and
differentiated learning opportunities, instruction is tailored to meet the individual needs
of every student.
Reading instruction is grounded in the Science of Reading and emphasizes strong
foundational literacy skills, reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and
communication. Mathematics instruction encourages conceptual understanding,
mathematical reasoning, and real-world problem solving while providing students with
opportunities to collaborate and explain their thinking. Science, social studies, STEM,
and the arts are integrated throughout the curriculum to provide engaging learning
experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
Bridlewood Academy believes in educating the whole child. Students participate in a
variety of related arts classes, including Art, Physical Education, Social-Emotional
Learning (SEL), and STEM, allowing them to develop creativity, wellness, leadership,
collaboration, and problem-solving skills. School-wide events such as our Talent Show,
Field Day, classroom celebrations, and other enrichment activities help create a positive
and memorable school experience for every student.

Family engagement is a cornerstone of our school community. Parents are encouraged
to take an active role in their child's education by volunteering, attending family
engagement nights, participating in school events, and joining their children for lunch on
campus. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) plays a vital role in supporting
students, staff, and school initiatives by organizing spirit shirt sales, coordinating
community food delivery partnerships, hosting the Scholastic Book Fair, sponsoring
Honor Roll celebrations, leading our Color Run fundraiser, and providing opportunities
that enrich the educational experience for all students.
Bridlewood Academy also benefits from the support of our Derby Dads, a dedicated
group of fathers and father figures who volunteer their time to assist with campus
projects, student events, and school activities. Their commitment strengthens our
school community and demonstrates the importance of family partnerships in supporting
student success.
Leadership and service are integral parts of the Bridlewood experience. Students have
opportunities to develop leadership skills through organizations such as Beta Club,
Student Council, and our Ambassador Program where they learn the value of service,
responsibility, citizenship, and teamwork. These organizations encourage students to
become active contributors within both the school and the larger community while
modeling the principles of our Bronco Pledge.
As Bridlewood Academy continues to grow, we remain committed to building a school
where academic excellence, character development, family partnerships, and
meaningful student experiences work together to prepare children for future success.
